Remodeling Sales Consultant
Location: Charlotte, NC. Hybrid position based in Charlotte, NC (Lower South End office). In-office Tuesday-Thursday; remote work Monday and Friday.
Turn Homeowner Dreams Into Beautifully Built Spaces
Spain Construction, now operating as Sunday Building Co., a family-owned luxury residential renovation company serving the Charlotte area. For more than 30 years, our team has helped homeowners transform kitchens, bathrooms, and entire homes through thoughtful design, honest guidance, and exceptional craftsmanship. Our name is changing, but the people, experience, and commitment behind the company remain the same. We are building the next generation of our business and looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
We are looking for an experienced residential construction professional who is ready to move from managing projects in the field to guiding homeowners through the front end of the renovation process. As our Remodeling Sales Consultant, you will be the primary homeowner-facing partner from the first consultation through the signed construction agreement. You will qualify incoming opportunities, discuss project goals and budgets, develop scopes and estimates, collaborate with our design team, and help homeowners confidently move forward with their renovation.
This is not a high-pressure or scripted sales position. It is a consultative role for someone who can combine technical construction knowledge with excellent communication, relationship-building, and business judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide prospective homeowners from their initial inquiry through a signed construction agreement.
- Conduct thoughtful, well-prepared consultations that uncover the homeowner's goals, priorities, expectations, and budget.
- Evaluate renovation opportunities ranging from cosmetic improvements to additions, full gut renovations, and structural modifications.
- Read architectural plans and develop detailed project scopes, takeoffs, estimates, and bid packages.
- Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing to produce accurate and competitive proposals.
- Partner with the lead designer to keep selections and design decisions aligned with the homeowner's budget.
- Present project scope, pricing, timelines, and agreements in a clear and confident manner.
- Maintain accurate opportunity and project information within Buildertrend or a similar CRM and project management system.
- Protect project profitability by ensuring each job is properly scoped, estimated, and prepared for production.
- Build long-term relationships with homeowners, designers, architects, real estate professionals, and referral partners.
- Lead a clean, organized handoff to the production team once the project is sold.
- Remain a trusted point of continuity for the homeowner throughout the renovation process.
- Take ownership of your pipeline, sales results, client experience, and professional growth.
Qualifications
- At least five years of residential remodeling or renovation experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience as a project manager, superintendent, production lead, estimator, or similar residential construction professional.
- Experience with high-end or luxury kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home renovations is preferred.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, materials, labor requirements, and costs.
- Experience with structural renovation work, including load-bearing wall removals, additions, structural modifications, or full gut renovations.
- Ability to read architectural plans and produce credible labor and material takeoffs.
- Strong estimating, budgeting, project development, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent client-facing communication and the ability to explain complicated construction decisions in a simple, reassuring way.
- Consultative and relationship-driven approach to sales.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and follow through without repeated reminders.
- Comfortable working in a performance-driven position where commission becomes a significant portion of total earnings.
- Experience using Buildertrend or comparable residential construction management software for estimating, customer communication, and project management.
- Existing relationships with architects, designers, or real estate professionals are a plus.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to commute reliably to the Lower South End area of Charlotte.
- Qualified homeowner inquiries are generated through company marketing and referrals; prospecting may also be encouraged.
